Who made out best in the NFL Draft? |
|
I'm biased, but the Lions really cleaned up, getting arguably the best receiver, running back, and linebacker in the draft. Wow.

1. I'd like to think the Bengals |
|
They got a versitile running back to replace the departed Cory Dillon and Brandon Bennett. They picked a Corner and a Safety that they needed and picked up a couple of outside linebackers.
On paper they did alright. We'll find out in the fall.

5. Don't forget Maurice Mann |
|
He was awesome last year. Just simply amazing imo. I think the fact he was from the WAC and Nevada hurt him. He is a tremodous athlete and can take it to the house everytime he gets the ball, he has a tremodous upside and could be one of the top sleepers in the draft. He's a bit frail but can bulk up. All there picks prove to me that the Bengals do have an eye for talent and I think that has alot to do with Marvin Lewis.

3. Definately Detroit by far |
|
But I'd like to think Denver got the best RB, WR, and LB in the draft. I really like their picks. Top to bottom, from DJ Williams to Matt Mauck and Bradlee Van Pelt. That hard hitting corner from Michigan I really like, LeSuer. As for Detroit they got Keith Smith who is great who held his own in the Senior Bowl. Also New England did well, filled some holes and got a great late round round back in Cedric Cobbs, he's done some impressive things for the Razorbacks. I also like Atlanta's and Arizona's picks. I think Baltimore got a great late round reciever in Clarence Moore, he is tall 6'6" kind of lean but can bulk up. He can seperate very good, has good timing jumping for the ball and often outleaps defenders for the ball. I know because I seen him play 5 times last year, once in person where he torched Arizona State for 144 yards with 8 catches and a TD. I liked all of Houston's picks except Jammal Lord but hey could do good. I was a little surprised Robert Kent didn't get drafted. Out of all the teams, I think the one that was disappointing was Dallas. But only time well tell who had the best draft days.

But the Kraig Krenzel pick had me scratching my head, I seriously didn't think he would be drafted. He doesn't have impressive arm strength or accuaracy but I do give him one thing, he is a great leader. Their top 4 picks were ok but it's tough to say they had the best draft day.

They did okay, better than I expected, but the Lions probably came away with the best draft, at least on paper.

9. The Raiders Got the Best Offensive Linemen in Several Years |
|
and the Giants got the best quarterback and drafted the best offensive guard in the second. I like both teams, so I'm happy.
It's actually possible that every team did well if the picks matched the team's needs. We'll just have to see if it all really pans out, and who's the next Ryan Leaf or Brian Bosworth.
I also like Cincinnati, and was disappointed that they picked a running back first. The Bengals always went with linemen during their successful years -- I think there was a point when their whole offensive line was first-rounders. But the NFL is littered with discarded first-round QBs and RBs picked by the Bengals over the last 14 years. So it's good to hear that someone else thought they did well.
I also missed the news that the Raiders had picked up Warren Sapp. Now that's a catch.

Everybody's draft looks good on paper. Let's see how the players do on the field before we make any judgements.
