Mrs. Mouse is home, resting semi-comfortably-YAY!
I apologize for the multiple postings about the recent difficulties in Mouseland, and just wanted to let everyone know that Mrs. Mouse's platelet count hit a whopping 100 on Friday morning, so they let her go home. Bone marrow biopsy was normal, so the diagnosis is confirmed as ITP. She will be on large doses of prednisone for 6 weeks, along with some other medications that she can't pronounce, and we will keep our fingers crossed for a remission. We'll consider the other options if and when they circumstances present themselves. She is very tired, but anxious about her work and dissertation, but realizes that right now is not the time to be running herself ragged (not that she won't, but at least she knows). Anyway, I just wanted to say a very much heartfelt THANK YOU to all of you at DU. You made it very easy for us to get through this hospitalization, and the attendant tension. Hugs to all!:toast: :hi: :grouphug: :pals: :yourock:

4. Good vibes are just as much appreciated...
Never put down the power of good thoughts. I am not a big prayer myself, not because I don't believe in doing so, but because I save them for when I really need a ear. The last time I really prayed was when Mrs. Mouse's cat, Putzin, was (mis) diagnosed with cancer. When she left to go to Winnipeg for Christmas, she took the cat with her, ostensibly for the last trip together. I did not fall apart until after she was gone, and then I prayed that she and the cat get nack to me safely and healthy. Funny thing, I have always believed that the God of my understanding hears only the real heartfelt prayers, not the ones we tend to repetitiously mumble on command, but that's my thing I guess. Whatever the case may be, when they got home, Putzin RAN up the stairs to our apartment and showed that he was very happy to see me (that doesn't happen often). A year later, the Vet. school admitted that they had misdiagnosed him and he did not have cancer. I was grateful that we did not allow those idiots to euthanize him (as they insisted had to be done and right away). That's my story and I'm stickin' to it. Thanks for the good vibes, I can already feel them working!

they really help us to get through this. I did use a trheat of yours recently though, I must admit. I did tell Mrs. Mouse that if she didn't take it easy and get rested, I would KICK HER ASS! I apologize for the plagiarism.
