Edited on Sun Apr-25-04 10:14 PM by Zech Marquis
whoa, the Bronx fans are NOT happy with Mister Jeter--man did they BOO the hell out of him :wow: Of course I expect the "it's still early" remarks, but it won't be early much longer, the Oakland As will play the Yankees next :scared:

3. Poor Nomar is still on the DL
:-(

We're doing well without his bat or Trot Nixon's bat/glove. I'm still in awe that we've taken 6 out of 7 from the Yanks. But it IS only April.

hey, is Red Sox Nation still taking in new members?
yeah it's still April, but I think the Sox have shown me alot of heart with this sweep, and last weekend's 3 for 4 result too. All done without Nomar and Nixon :bounce:

7. We always welcome new fans
but you have to understand the whole psychology of losing. I think only Cubs fans can truly understand the pain of being a fan of a cursed team. The Sox usually play great but then implode after the All-Star break. But this year we have great pitching, so this may be the year.

8. Can I apply for membership?
The Pirates are on their way to a twelfth consecutive losing season. Winning ninety games a year and finishing second sure sounds like a deal to me!

Living here is allowing the Red Sox to grow on me. And "Yankees Suck" sure has a nice ring to it. It's appropriate for all seasons, as the UMass undergrads kindly demonstrated in their chants following the Super Bowl. :spank:

I agree, this may be the year!

9. I love your Larry David avatar
and the Sox are a fun team to watch-especially now that they have good pitching!

10. thanks!
I love Curb Your Enthusiasm; it's fun to cringe when Larry says what I have the sense(?) not to.

4. he sure isn't
and Nomar hasn't played an ining this season yet, and look at how bsoton is doing!

DJ will rebound, but the Yankees as whole--boy there are some serious problems with that pitching staff. That used to be the Yankees' key strenght, stron sarting pitchers and a solid bullpen. But now...

6. Don't worry-Steinbrenner has deep pockets and will augment the pitching
with some talent. You lost three great starters (Wells, Clemens, Pettite) and Mussina doesn't have the stuff he used to. Mariano has given up six walks already this year-and he only gave up 10 walks ALL LAST YEAR. Brown is great but the Sox hit him pretty well. It's a bizarro world when the Red Sox have a better bullpen than the Yanks. :-)

2. The A's have great pitching
I think Jeter was 2 for 26 against the Red Sox. He struck out THREE TIMES today. I haven't seen Derek play that badly ever. He will come out of it-he is a talented hitter.

5. A's have fantastic starting pitching
But their bullpen and their offense are only mediocre. That being said, I still think they are the best team in the AL West.
