Chuck-A-Rama buffet kicks no-carb dieters out of restaurant !
"It's so embarrassing actually," said Leota. "We went in to have dinner, we were under the impression Chuck-A-Rama was an all-you-can-eat establishment."

Not so, said Jack Johanson, the restaurant chain's district manager.

"We've never claimed to be an all-you-can-eat establishment," said Johanson. "Our understanding is a buffet is just a style of eating."

Uhhh errr no...A buffet usually means all you can eat. I was siding with the customers until I read this next snip:

The general manager was carving the meat, and became concerned about having enough for other patrons, Johanson said. So when Amaama went up for his 12th slice, the manager asked Amaama to stop.

Holy crap!

2. I would have stopped them waaaay before 12 slices
I think some people are using the Atkins diet as an excuse to keep up their bad eating habits.

5. I'm sorry, but your wrong. A buffet is not automatically "all you can eat"

8. It depends on marketing
If they did use the language "unlimited," or "as many trips as you want" or whatever in their menu, then I think the diners have a point. If they didn't, I think the restaurant manager was within his right. Especially if there was the standard "we reserve the right to limit quantities" that many buffet restaurants have, in small print, on their receipts or wherever.

Poking around the Chuck-A-Rama Web site, it does indeed look like they chose their language carefully. There are no references to "all you can eat" or similar (and there is no "limit" disclaimer, either.)

For the record, it also looks vile.

Old Country Buffet also avoids the all-you-can-eat language, but frankly, those places are so big and busy, you could probably sit there for three hours eating nothing but beef ribs and nobody would notice.

Golden Corral is indeed all-you-can-eat (check out the language on their Hot Bar):

I suggest these people go there for the pot roast.

It's all in the advertising.

7. "I don't have any desire to go there ever again,"
The couple said they won't return to the restaurant.

"I don't have any desire to go there ever again," said Leota.

Somehow, I don't think Chuck-A-Rama will be all that heartbroken if they don't ever return...

9. one thing I've noticed
Every single buffet-style restaurant in the south does indeed say "All You Can Eat." Or used to.

They've changed it lately. The signs now read, "All You Care To Eat."

11. The other weird side effect of the low-carb diets
is that cattle rustling has become a big problem again. Many ranchers are experiencing disappearances of cattle, particularly young calves. People are stopping their big SUVs near a field and coaxing calves into the vehicles. It's starting to cost ranchers a ton of money.

I cannot see how any diet which regards a bucket of lard as a perfectly acceptable snack could possibly be regarded as healthy.

12. Roast Beef? 12 slices?! Demanding a refund?!!!
Karma, in the form of gooey cholesterol deposits, will have the last word.

12 slices?! Surely there must have been other forms of succulent dead animals in the buffet?!

Given the conditions that it takes to prepare that food, let alone the nerve of the couple to ask for a refund after eating all that meat :wow: , I'm readily siding with the store owner.
