what have you seen today that moved you? |
|
What has moved you today? Caused you joy, anger, sadness, happiness, exasperation, or glee?
moi:
*a pile of cat hork on the kitchen counter
*a riot of pink tulips
*Domino the Cat, sitting under Russel's car, waiting for me to pull away so he could run up onto the porch and get his breakfast
*a blue heron in flight
*driving through a fresh, green tunnel -- about five miles on Suitland Parkway, two lanes lined on both sides by tall, dense green trees in full spring leaf
*the National Mall littered with detritus from yesterday, and NPS workers cleaning up
*five male mallards sitting in a row near a small city pond
*a wonderful email stating my boss is working from home today :bounce:

The lack of coverage of the march yesterday. Over one million people show up in Washington to march for a cause and there is no national news media even giving it a slight mention today on the news. No wonder the average American still thinks Bush is a great leader. This is so wrong, it is just stunning.

2. I wish I could see it from that perspective, Upfront, but |
|
living in the DC area, I find it's all over the news, last night as well as this morning. They covered it on NPR. That's national. But I know that's also not surprising.

8. I saw coverage here in Arkansas this morning as well. |
|
Granted, it's probably not as prominent as we would like to see but it was coverage none-the-less.

I watched on CSPAN. I couldn't go. But I was very moved. And then I saw the pictures from both skinner and EricG, and I had to laugh. Apparenly 16 pro lifers got arrested for protesting without a permit. That was great. And I think I love Tyne Daly even more now than I already did. Now all I can say is I WANT ONE OF THOSE Hot Pink TSHIRTS!! Duckie

I was driving on the freeway/expressway, and saw a green-headed mallard sitting at the side of the road. The duck was actually on the tarred shoulder. He was looking at his squashed mate. He was waiting for her. I almost cried. I hope they don't mate for life.

 If I'd seen it, I would have lost my mind for about five minutes. I'm afflicted w/ the inability to shut my heart off from animal suffering.
I'm really sorry you saw that.

I was watering my front yard this morning ,I don't have a sprinkler so I use that time every morning for reflexion and peace while holding my hose watering .
This morning a humming bird bathed herself/himsef in the mist of the hose and hovered for nearly a minute . at one point was about 2 feet from my face .
I felt so blessed to be gifted with such a treat from a wild creature living free trusting me to get so close to me .

On the front page of the Washington Post was a picture of a 9 year old Iraqi girl who'd been horribly burned during the fighting. Underneath this heart-wrenching photo was an article titled "Bush's Oratory Helps Maintain Support for War".
