Submit your photos for the new *public* DU photo gallery. (Thread #3)

We believe that the time has come for there to be an official gallery of DU members, which is open to the public and can be seen by anyone on the Internet.

I want to express my thanks to GregW, and to all the other people who have worked so hard to maintain the unofficial DU Gallery. Unfortunately, it has become apparent that it is virtually impossible to keep the gallery secret, while keeping it open to members who want to see it. It seems that some people have felt excluded because they were not able to see the gallery.

So, we've decided to start from scratch, and build a new official DU gallery.

PLEASE READ THIS!

Please be aware that this new gallery will be open to the public, which means that any visitor to the Democratic Underground website can browse the photos posted there. If you submit your photograph to be posted in the DU gallery, you assume any and all risks associated with having your photograph posted on a public website. If you are concerned about your privacy, if you do not wish for strangers to see your photograph, if you do not like the idea of strangers commenting about your photograph on this or on other websites, or if you have any other concerns, we strongly advise that you do not submit your photograph to be posted in the DU gallery. Democratic Underground, LLC, is not responsible for anything that may happen as a result of your photograph being posted on our website.

If you wish to submit your photograph for publication in the new DU gallery, please do the following:

1) Either post a link to a photograph of yourself in this discussion thread, or else send an email to [e-mail] with a photograph of yourself attached.

2) Make sure to include your DU forum username, which will be posted along with your photo.

3) Include some text indicating that you understand the photo is going to be public, and you assume the risks of having your photograph posted on this website.

4) Do not send photographs of other people. You may only submit photographs of yourself.

5) If you are sending an email, please make sure that the filesize of the photo does not exceed 200KB.

And I forgot that the photo of me with the strat shows me playing the chords weird. We had that gig to do a week after I took the end off my index finger, while on my sailboat, and you can see the big bandage on the finger. I took off the splint. LOL I had to relearn my chord fingerings without using my index finger so I could get thru the gig.
The show must go on.
Have also given up gigging for a while. Not enough time.

I'm playing in a pop-type band at the moment. We have a lot of fun and the money is good, but it's cheese. We all know it's cheese, but we realize that cheese pays better than stubborn artistic expression. My first love is playing blues, and that's what I'm best at (sax, as well as singing). Still...there's an art (somewhat) to making cheesy pop-tunes palatable. I miss my blues band, and I miss my jazz quartet, but cheesy bar-tunes tend to pay better. Yeah, I'm a mercenary at heart. Mostly, I just like to make people dance, though.

post them to the web elsewhere, then link to them. Your ISP probably offers some free space for the purpose. If not, DUers will suggest other good places to post images.
