Poll question: Married DUers: How often do you "do IT"? |
|
What is your average number of times per day/week/month?
Just curious about how often you have time to make the beast with two backs. Also: Did having kids drastically effect your average?
Frequency of Sex by Relationship Status The status of a relationship has a major impact on the frequency of sex. Couples who are cohabiting, but not married, are the most sexually active. They make love 146 times a year compared to single people, who are not in a steady relationship and who have sex 69 times per year. Couples with children have sex more often (115 times a year) than people without children (103 times a year).

I can remember days like that with my ex. As much as I didn't enjoy things toward the end our early days together were something else. I can remember disappearing into my dorm room on Friday after dinner and not coming out til time for dinner Sunday. I don't even remember what the final count was any more.

sex after parenthood can be a, hmmm, challenge. I tell my so that it is ironic that that sex is how children arrive, but then you wonder how any more can ever be made, given that they are so time consuming, and that you are often too tired at first to make any more.. attempts...

Once you have kids and jobs and bills and so on... Some things become more important and some things bump down.
I would love to have more time to "do it" but man is it difficult to work in. We have to wait for the little one to go to sleep. We have to fit it in to our crazy schedules. At a certain point you are just happy to have time to sit and talk.
It just becomes less important. If I have to choose between spending an hour talking to my hubby or an hour schtupping my hubby, I'll take the lively conversation.

I was responding to Byron's assertion that you don't want to have sex again once you've seen the consequences. I was gonna have "The Talk" with him if he needed to know about birth control so he could have someo no-consequences sex. Given that he's a grown-up this was supposed to be funny. You know. A joke. 52. I found the opposite to be true. In my case anyways. |
|
My kids are 17 and 19. One at home, one at college. They're 18 months apart. I found that it was easier to "do it" when they were younger. At least until the "nap-time" phase ended.
When my kids were between 6 and 12 we lived overseas in base housing. Very small and very thin walls. I was always worried that they were lurking or at least in the vicinity to hear.
Things definitely changed once my kids were out and about with friends, driver's licenses and such. There is more time now to be alone and we do have a much larger house. Our room is at the other end of the house too!

mine is 8. He likes Capt. Beefheart and Robyn Hitchcock, and more recently tolerates old CD's my band made. "Mom, is that you singing? Yes, my dear and playing the drums as well." :) He also likes the Ramones.. Jimmy Neutron had a pretty good punky soundtrack complete with an edited version of Blitzkreig Bop. He also likes Mr. Punchy on the last Joey Ramone disc. ( sniffle)
Have you had the pleasure of seeing Mr. Neutron in action? Probably the most fun animation for kids. The only kid movie I had to sit through that I really enjoyed. All that post-modern humor ( well I do like Harry Potter - books and films a lot.) And Veggie tales make me laugh with their absurdist Christianity.
Congrats on the little one to come.

I love Jimmy. Actually Sheen (sp) is my favorite. I love that line in the movie about the egg people, where Sheen says, "Never argue with the data." Plus, Jimmy's line about the intellectuals always being the first to go. Those films and cartoons are chock full of great lines.

but kept the accent. Tubb has a bit of a broague that bothers me...I can't place it. It kinda sounds like the guy on Alan Partridge (Dave) which I would assume is very northern English. But then sometimes he has a sing-y thing going on, which would indicate Irish.
I think maybe it's not so much the accent itself, as the *style* of accent. There's been much debate recently on whether an accent is truly based on where one comes from, or more on what *style* they adopt of the local accent. Which is a bit of a conundrum. I mean, I'm no linguist, but would not the *style* lean more toward a coloquial speech pattern, rather than the accent? Are they 2 sides of the same coin? Am I annoying you yet? :D

19. I'm separated, so not at all. |
|
She was "too tired" too often, so I stopped trying. Then she asked why I didn't try anymore, and I said "because I already know the answer."
She then told me that I was supposed to keep making passes at her (IAW, keep getting shot down) to make her feel good, and actually had the gall to say "how do you think I feel when you don't try anymore?" I answered with "not nearly as bad as I feel getting shot down 23 nights in a row. My days of stroking your ego when I already know the answer are over." Then I voluntarily took the couch.
That spelled the end of our marriage. We've both seen other people since, and I don't miss her at all. Now she wants to get back together. 'Tis to laugh.
Sorry to vent, but I'd be lying if I said that the gall of her demand (that I still make passes even when she's against it) still pisses me off (even more than not getting laid).

where each of them is speaking, separately, to their psychiatrist about their sex life.
She: "He always wants to have sex - we're constantly having sex, like, THREE TIMES a week!"
He: "She never wants to have sex - we hardly ever have sex, like maybe only THREE TIMES a week!"
If my husband goes much more than 48 hours without, he gets so damn cranky he's impossible to live with. Men don't have PMS - they have CSR! Odd to remember that my ex-husband and I went two YEARS without having sex. Might have something to do with why he's an EX-husband.
His boys are 17 and 20, so they're both more and less of an interruption than they were when they were younger. Less, because if they hear squealing and slapping sounds coming from the bedroom, they don't interrupt us unless something's caught fire. More, because the little bastards have cars now and show up at our house unannounced on weekends when we're supposed to be able to hang the chains from the ceiling without having to explain them. x(
