I tossed my medals too
Actually, as I was riding thru Camp Pendlton for the last time, I threw my whole uniform out the car window. My friend who had been released 2 months earlier picked me up on the AM of my discharge. As we drove along, I changed into my "civys" & jettisened my dress greens piece by piece.

1. Thanks for sharing
Did you ever regret doing it? Was this for service in Viet Nam?

5. Yes it was Vietnam
And yes I did have some regrets. Latter on when marching with Viet Vets against the war, I had no uniforms to wear because I had tossed my entire seabag in a dumpster......

2. message to shrub and his gang
John Kerry earned his medals. This is much more than can be said about Bush's and his fellow traitors.

3. Who can blame you?
I mean, it's an organization that treats it's employees like property. You get shitty pay, even shittier benefits now, and they now work for a pig who didn't even have the nuts to serve in the Air National Guard, let alone combat.

Kerry is considered a traitor by those that he worked for because he testified against the horrifying acts of his collegues during the war. That's not what we call a traitor. He's a good man. I wish they'd get off his back. The man requested to go to Viet Nam in spite of him probably getting killed. He's a hero. At least he championed against the killing of innocent people. What did Bush do? He worked on his daddy's campaign. OOH... I'm so twitterpated. not. Bush is a piece of shit.
And thank you for serving your country, despite all the draw backs, Ernesto.

4. One of my friends marched himself to the front of the barracks
whipped out his hunting knife and literally shredded his uniform off him, all the way down to his skivvies, and left it there. Another guy just put them all in a pile and burned them.
