There was a short bit about how the CIA has developed a satellite-based way to perform encephalographies (brain scans). IMHO, if a spy-technology is mentioned on Alias, it's probably being perfected in the real world.

Anyway, it makes you think that maybe having that tin-foil hat on full-time isn't a crazy idea after all!

MORE DETAILS: Later, Sloane drops the green ball into the artifact, which etches a brain wave pattern on parchment. They use a DOD satellite network capable of remote encephalography to locate The Passenger. She's in a labor camp in Chechnya, under the alias of Talia Kozlov. Syd infiltrates the Chechen camp and finds her sister in a catatonic state and strapped to a bed.

2. There I go, using big words . . .
whose meaning I don't really know . . .

It was about the CIA doing brain scans from satellites, and how each brain has a unique signature, so they were trying to find "the Passenger" using this technology.

Just made me think that all the tin-hats could be useful.

4. Pretty sure that's impossible
They mention a lot of things on Alias that are not even close to being possible

We barely even understand what brain-waves signify

7. You're wrong, wrong, wrong
Every single thing on Alias is real and in use by the CIA. Nothing about the show is unrealistic in the slightest.

;)
