Anyone else Pissed Off ALL the time?
I can't help it. I'm ANGRY ANGRY ANGRY. It doesn't seem to dissipate.

I'm FURIOUS at the direction of this country, SICK of sanctimonious rightwing Christian males imposing their fucked-up vision on everyone else, DISGUSTED by the rightwing corporate droning media, MAD at the dumb, apathetic masses who accept the status quo in cow-like submission.

I wake up angry and I go to bed angry.

I go for a walks; I do something proactive (e.g. make a call to complain to a media outlet); I drink a glass of wine; I try to take my mind off things. Nothing works. I've been mightily pissed off since November/December 2000 and there doesn't seem to be any relief in sight.

I'm sure the last 3 1/2 years haven't been good for my longterm health.

Anyone else feel like this?

7. I do know the feeling
I would get so angry during the day I wouldn't be able to sleep at night. I could just see things in my head when I closed my eyes.. articles I read, clips on tv.. just stuff to make me angry. Finally I had to limit myself from certain things. There is a bulletin board which just made my blood boil I have banned myself from. I have also banned myself from watching fox. I just couldn't help viewing it sometimes. Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity. Finally I have broken that off. My advice is find whatever it is that sets you off the most and cut off that contact. Don't let it take over your life. Replace it with something that calms you. Play with your kids, your cat, dog, yourself, whatever to take your mind off what is upsetting you.

That has helped. Also my wonderful kitties -- fur therapy, I call it. The kids are great and also a cause of stress as every parent knows! Still, they get you outside, running around in grass, that kind of thing.

Will Pitt keeps telling me that "Anger is a gift" and that we have to let it motivate us to action rather than letting it eat us up inside. That's the key. You sound like you're doing something about that anger...so it's good.

But the current economic situation is such that I have to disengage from all of this often and get some freakin' work done. Just want those in power want, of course: For us to be too busy to do anything about it. But the break from the anger is healthy, I think.

Maniacly angry at the bubbacracy that "thinks" it's a good thing.

18. In the Immortal words of Howard Beale....
Beale: I don't have to tell you things are bad. Everybody knows things are bad. It's a depression. Everybody's out of work or scared of losing their job. The dollar buys a nickel's worth; banks are going bust; shopkeepers keep a gun under the counter; punks are running wild in the streets, and there's nobody anywhere who seems to know what to do, and there's no end to it. We know the air is unfit to breathe and our food is unfit to eat. And we sit watching our TVs while some local newscaster tells us that today we had fifteen homicides and sixty-three violent crimes, as if that's the way it's supposed to be! We all know things are bad -- worse than bad -- they're crazy. It's like everything everywhere is going crazy, so we don't go out any more. We sit in the house, and slowly the world we're living is getting smaller, and all we say is "Please, at least leave us alone in our own living rooms. Let me have my toaster and my TV and my my steel-belted radials, and I won't say anything. Just leave us alone."

Well I'm not going to leave you alone. I want you to get mad! I don't want you to protest; I don't want you to riot; I don't want you to write to your Congressman, because I wouldn't know what to tell you to write. I don't know what to do about the depression and the inflation and the Russians and the crime in the street. All I know is that first, you've got to get mad. You've gotta say, "I'm a human being! My life has value!"

So, I want you to get up now. I want all of you to get up out of your chairs. I want you to get up right now and go the window, open it, and stick your head out and yell, "I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!!"

I just can't get over the fact that I live in the stupidest democracy on Planet Earth. The nation that was founded by a Washington and Jefferson, sheparded through Civil War by a Lincoln, brought into the modern age by FDR and Kennedy, has been reduced to this . . .

Stolen elections
Crony-ism run rampant
Corporate fraud
Immoral wars
A police state rewarded for its negligence and incompetence
Mewling, fawning media
Tax-give aways to the rich
Smear and slander against anyone who speaks truth

This isn't America. I don't know what the hell it is, but it's not America.

I'm walking around in a constant state of simmering outrage . . .

As Hamlet says about Claudius, our leader is "A villain, a slave that is not twentith part the tithe of our precedent lord, a vice of kings, a cutpurse of the empire and the rule, that from a shelf the precious diadem stole, and put it in his pocket . . . a king of shreds and patches."

For the first couple of years, yes mostly I was. This past year I've been trying to be more calm and although every once in a while (like when I read the article about the right-wing terrorist that for some reason ISN'T in the news) I get really riled, I do try to stay calm for my kids. Don't want to develop high blood pressure or anything over the thugs.

34. "Anger is an energy..." Or so said PiL long ago...
...Fact is, it can also be self-destructive, and I can only say to you that I relate. I get crazy when I read or hear what's going on. My blood pressure flares. That ain't healthy. I can feel my pulse pounding in my ears.

I try to give up "media exposure" for days on end. It helps a little. But I always return to it, like a dog to his vomit. (That's from the Bible, I think!) I do what I can to promote what I believe in---with donations of time, effort and money. That helps. I'm writing a novel now, full of anger and (I hope) humor. That helps.

I've tried drinking all the wine in the world on one afternoon. This, it turns out, does not help, but if you can limit it to one glass, yeah, it'll take the edge off.

Keep the faith. You know you're not alone. And knowing that helps me too.

35. GRRRRR!!!

Every day. I have to try to calm down and find some kind of tranquility or it is going to kill me. About 2 weeks ago I went to the emergency room with stabbing pains in my left arm and left upper chest. Since then,I have been undergoing tests to see if I have a heart problem,at 40 years old no less. :wtf:

I have been so angry and stressed I fear it has made me seriously ill.

Through all of it,I have been trying not to focus on how this debacle has effected me,but think of the nation as a whole, but dammit,it does effect me and I have paid dearly on a personal level due to the actions of this misadministration.

I have been forced to take a job 90 miles from home. It does pay a little better than starvation wages, but not quite enough. I leave home on Monday, sleep in an empty office at work on an air mattress, usually get home Wed. night and am home on the weekends.

Moving from Tulsa to Oklahoma City isn't a good option. My wife works in Tulsa. Also, one thing I have to thank God for is we were able to pay the house off,so we are better off than a lot of people.

Still,I can't help but but to be seething with rage at the actions of this cabal. The *asshat's "economic policies" have turned my life into one big Hobson's choice, and for that all I can say to the entire cabal is fuck all of them straight to hell!
