Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
So, I was in my usual chat room on AOL tonight, goofing around, having a mildly entertaining time, when I got an email from someone in the room asking if he could Instant Message (IM) me. I said, "Have you read my profile?" My profile tells people I'm a fairly liberal Democrat who is devoting much of her energy to making sure that the current occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue is forced to relocate soon. I figure that's up front, right?

So, I'm talking to this guy and he says, "How is it that a bubbly, engaging, intelligent person like you isn't married?" I declared that it was a mystery to me.

He seemed nice so far, so I said, "I sure hope you aren't a Republican." He said, "I am." I said, "For heaven's sake, why???????"

He said, "I'm a Christian. I can't vote for anyone who's not pro-life. Kerry's not pro-life."

I said, "Well, I'm a pro-choice Christian. Tell me ... how is it Christian to be a consistent liar in public office? How is it Christian to send 700 young Americans to die in Iraq for NO GOOD REASON? How is it Christian to keep your entire presidency secret from the American public? How is it Christian to continually enrich the wealthy at the expense of the poor and the middle class in direct contradiction to the teaching of Jesus?"

He said, "I can see now why you're still single. Goodbye."

Oh well.

7. Oh, I know that
It doesn't mean it's not frustrating. I hate it when people who seem intelligent turn out to be STUPID.

11. Political conversations
between dems and repugs rarely go much better unless they are already aquainted, or don't take strong positions, at least thats my impression. Why he started the conversation is the question.

This is true. Especially since I'm so clear in my profile.

Though he may have not taken it seriously. Big mistake.

4. Fools rush in
and fools rush out.

Don't ever take something like that personally, unless you take it as a sign of strength.

That's all.

Republican Christianity: Death to all who oppose our greedy little supply side Jesus theme we've made up to manipulate the sheep's to believe.

10. He's divorced
But still good friends with his Ex. He lives in PA and I in WI, so there were all kinds of problems.

But the "I can see why you're still single" was the issue. Like it should be clear that a woman with a brain, with passionate convictions, and able to articulate a case for what she believes is automatically not relationship material.

This is what I've been running into my whole life. And I'll be 50 in August.
