A TEENAGER who used his dog to frighten his victim during a robbery changed its appearance using hair dye to fool detectives, a court was told yesterday.
Ramon Thomas, 18, poured brown dye on to his Staffordshire bull terrier’s black and white coat, Inner London Crown court was told.
With three accomplices and his dog, Muttley, Mr Thomas allegedly stole money and a mobile phone from a 16-year-old boy at Streatham Common railway station in southwest London. British Transport police were given a tip-off and visited Mr Thomas at his home where they found the telephone, the hair dye and the dog, it was said.
Mr Jones told the court: “The dog was used here as an additional threat. Another way of putting a young man in fear.” He added: “This dog had had a hard life. A vet found it to have lots of injuries.”
