Did you ever write anything when you were in school... |
|
That would get you in trouble today?
I wrote a sci-fi story in which nearly all the people in my science class were killed and eaten by a huge, blobby monster.
Then I even wrote Part II.

I wrote a story about a girl getting date-raped, getting pregnant and giving birth to a demon baby. I wrote poetry that could have been interpreted as suicide notes. I wrote limericks about the black plague. I write a four-page journal entry (in a writing journal, that we turned in for credit) that was a first-person account of a suicide by drug overdose.
I did find myself in the school psychologist's office, after my history teacher refered me. She thought I was going to kill myself. (She was a mandatory reporter, so she had to, but I resented her for that at the time.)
And I wasn't even all that messed up -- think Lindsey from "Freaks and Geeks." Math team, stoner friends and everything.

7. Find a video place where they're renting the DVD set as one unit |
|
$4.00 or so will get you all the episodes for a few days. Even though it's set 10 years prior to my high-school experience, it still resonates.

3. I wrote a spoof of my English teacher sr. year |
|
in the style of Chaucer. I was so bold as to mention her hickies that she hid under her scarf. My teacher was a great sport, she thought it was really funny, and read it to the class. I don't think that would fly too well today.

5. In J-school I wrote a letter scolding a local politcal party |
|
They wouldn't speak to my class a couple days before the election, as well, the same politcal party was the ONLY one not to show up at my college for a debate. So, I sent them an email basically calling them a bunch of fuckheads. And told them their right wing grip on Vancouver City council was going to be wiped out because they paid no attention to the youth vote. The Campaign manager sent me back a very snarky reply which also read "On a personal note, don't count your chickens"
A very unprofressional thing to do, and something I'd surely get in shit from my publisher for if I did it today....
I should ad those fucking dinks got completely destroyed by the left wing cope council because of exactly the reason I stated. I should have re-sent the letter and reference the "don't count your chickens part"

6. I and my friends senior class prank |
|
Would have gotten us arrested, jailed and or put in mental institutions for long, careful examination.
We basically made up a terrorist organization working to free the oppressed students, made "demands" (which we hardly ever actually specified), launched a (bottle) rocket attack, and topped it all off with a bombing, complete with a very realistic looking bomb made with road flares as dynamite sticks.
The school administrators knew we were kidding around, and played up to us, writing notes back in response to the ones we sent them, basically saying that our resistance was futile, and that we needed to improve our spelling and grammar. One of us was an "insider" in the schools front office. During the "bombing" he walked into the principals office. Both the Principal and the VP were laughing riotously, the Principle literally rolling on the floor. He asked why and they told him to look out the window. He did, and acted appropriately shocked and said "what's THAT?" The Principle and VP cried out together 'It's a BOMB!" and laughed even harder.
At a recent party one of us brought out a folder he'd saved of all the notes that had been passed. God they were funny, and everyone at the party who read them was amazed, saying you could NEVER do such a thing in todays paranoid world.
What a shame. It was a different world "back then."
