3. This post is insensitive to Italians
Let's put it this way. If we changed the name to say, Clarence Thomas and called for best "Ghetto nicknames" for him how would people react?

12. No. But this site used to run a series called "The Supremos"
Was that insensitive?

17. I can't speak to that issue since I'm unfamiliar with "The Supremos"
I don't think that gives one a free pass to make racial insensitive comments. Obviously this is a debatable issue, but it's my opinion that if we are going to point out all the double standards used against liberals (by the media and the RW), we better be careful not to have double standards of our own.

21. You really need to ask Skinner about "The Supremos"
It had Scalia as the head of a Mafia crime family. It was a series just like "Top 10 Conservative Idiots". About as insensitive to Italians as you can get.

27. Again, does that justify your insensitive post?
You keep dodging the direct issue here. Do you really want to argue that racial insensitivity is ok just as long as other people do it?

28. Not racially insensitive. Italians are not a race
Not ethnically insensitive - Not singling out Italians as a group.
I'm possibly stereotyping Scalia as a Mafioso because of his Italian heritage and his propensity to fix cases.
But I would not do that to every person of Italian heritage.
Just ones I dislike.
Not all Italians are Mafiosos
But Scalia acts like one.
And they do exist.

13. Then you are insinuating that all people of Italian descent are Mafioso?
The poster was alluding to the fact that a small percentage of that population is of 'questionable' morals. Saying that this insults the entire Italian heritage is synonymous with saying that if you ridicule the KKK, you are insulting the entire white race, or the entire southern population.

In every subset of a culture, there will be a certain set of characters that are not, shall we say, "law abiding". It is this subset that is being ridiculed. And deservedly, for their arrogance and lawlessness is often rooted in ignorance or self-righteousness. Both of which deserve ridicule.

Most of us work for the Mafia, but not all of us are in the Mafia.

20. Not this thread
_The Sopranos_ itself is insulting to our people; this thread is about insulting Scalia, which I am happy to engage in. Besides, we haven't been as ill-treated as Blacks in America.

Tony IS the fixer for the Bush gang, which acts very much like a Mafia. He's one of the few in Bush's camp who's actually Italian, but they're all acting like Mafiosi. I think the shoe fits.

Edit: This was supposed to be a reply to the "insensitive to Italians" post.
