Who will play Robert Langdon in the movie version of The Da Vinci Code?
Supposedly directed by Ron Howard.

My pick - Denzel Washington, even though not an African American in the book, Denzel would be wonderful.

Your suggestions?

2. Neither Denzel or Tim is stupid enough to play that role...

...although Tim did PLAY stupid pretty well in "Bull Durham".

I see either Jim Carrey or Jeff Daniels reprising one of their "Dumb and Dumber" roles to play that guy. :eyes:

4. Ehhhhhhhhhhhh.........
Nothing against Denzel, I don't know if this is the right piece for him at this time in his career. Denzel seems to have gone Pacino style "Hooooaaaaahhhh" on us.

I vote for Russell Crowe after his turn in Simple Mind I think he would be great as Langdon.

11. Humm...interesting...
James Spader? don't you think he's too young?

Jennifer Gardner in interesting, not sure she's Spohie, I thought of Sophie while reading as a tad nerdy, maybe Tina Fey looking.

Antonio Banderas, I just never liked him period, I never understood what the appeal is for him. I pictured some fat bishop looking guy...hey...Dick Cheney would be perfect for that role.

I like Harvey Keitel as the detective on their trail...can't remember the name of the character but I remember thinking of him while I read it.

8. I can't remember the guys name, Colin Ferill something or another....
he hosted SNL recently. He was in "On Being Ernest." I could also see the guy who played in the indie film about a hit man who befriends a small girl, he liked plants and he teaches her how to kill. I think it was called the Assassin? I hope someone here can figure out what the movie was, because I'm completely brain dead on this one. But I totally picture him in the role of Langdon.

For Sophie I would totally go with Catherine Zeta Jones, Kate Winslet, or Julian Anderson if she isn't to old for the part.
