On first listen, the new Sam Phillips CD is INCREDIBLE

I have been a fan for awhile, but her latest CD, A Boot and a Shoe may be her most consistant and beautiful. For those of you not familiar, she is a pop/folk singer with an amazing, smoky voice that is unlike anyone else's. Her producer/husband is T-Bone Burnett.

I highly recommend this CD, especially for people who like artists like Aimee Mann.

Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, B.B. King, Howlin' Wolf, Ike Turner, Billy Lee Riley, the Prisonaires.... No doubt about it, Sam Phillips had an ear for talent!

New Sam Phillips! Yay, thanks for letting me know. I'll look for it next time I'm out music shopping. About 10 or so years ago I was in a shop, told the manager I wanted something new, and unfamiliar. He handed me Cruel Inventions and when I put it on was blown away by it. She's never disappointed me.
