which is pretty Democratic, except for some of the suburbs. What happens to people when they move to the suburbs, anyway? I live in a city suburb but I'm still a feminist liberal Democrat! I guess I shouldn't complain, I could be living in the "alabama part" of Pa. ;)

At least you don't have an Austrian former action-star as a governor.

not too many oil wells around here ( I am in Pgh) now. Up in OIl City, yes and a few north of Pittsburgh. Don't know about the rest of the state.

Did you notice that if you get more than fifty miles from Pittsburgh or Philly everyone has a Southern accent?

esp. as you go south. There is an interesting rural accent. Wonder what the origin of that is? And suburb seems to be freeper too. What is that about?

12. is it a southern accent, or a redneck accent? |
|
Edited on Wed Apr-28-04 06:19 PM by Twillig
Because the redneck accent is everywhere. David Cross does a funny bit about this in his SHUT UP, YOU F#$%ING BABY! album/CD.
There's nothing wrong with a southern accent. Not even a Texas accent(edit, 'cause i've known several and liked 'em). But when you hear the redneck accent, look out.
