Can Someone Tell Me the Skinny on "Angel?" |
|
i threw away my tv last year, after almost having a heart attack due to some RW propaganda on my once-beloved PBS. i don't miss it at all...except for Angel. I'm resigned to waiting until the DVDs come out, but sometimes, like today, i really wish there was a way to download it or something. sometimes i just need a break from all the news.
i heard smallville was getting good this year too. thanks!

1. Angel is done after this season.. |
|
apparently WB didn't want to sign them anymore for some reason. I didn't get the whole info on it, but if you want to check it out, go to www.cityofangel.com . It's a great website about Angel and the cast.
I'm sure going to miss that show. It's the only show on TV I watch, besides WWE Monday Night Raw and WWE Smackdown!.

I gave up my TV, and Angel, The Simpsons, and Cartoon Network's Adult Swim are the only shows I miss. I am also waiting for the DVD's to come out, but sometimes to keep up with what's happening I go to www.buffyworld.com. It has all the episodes that have aired with plot synopsis and even screenplays. Only go there though if you're looking for spoilers.
Angel is done after this season but it looks like they're going to do some made for TV movies afterwards, possibly even combining the Buffy and Angel casts.

i read a bit about WB's choice to ax angel in favor of a remake of dark shadows. i always knew joss was too good for our media baron's dogpile called tv, but i honestly can't conceive of the stupidity behind the decision to rehash that trash...they must hate devoted fans or something.

Angel never did have huge ratings, but if did have a devoted local following. The networks never seem to care about that, instead they're more interested in trash that gets huge ratings because so and so married a millionaire or had to eat a cup of bugs.
Have you seen Firefly? If you haven't, I can't recommend it enough. It's Joss Whedon's space western that was killed after only one season by Faux. It's some of the best work that Whedon has done, but the network failed to grasp that and actually aired episodes out of order and did about everything they could to kill it. But fan response was so strong that they're now making a movie out of it called "Serenity."

We got an Replay system from just before they got sewed into oblivion. So it has all the cool featuers like automatic commercial skipping and the ability to email shows to others. But TIVO and other brands are still cool and return control of your time and what you have to watch to you. They enable you to set the times you watch things and exactly what you want to watch.

6. I've missed most of this season |
|
The local channel here also plays the Pacers, so it's frequently rescheduled.
