Hey DU: Most awful drink you've ever made? Give us the recipe!
Can be alchoholic or non.

I just made a gin and cranberry juice over ice that I don't think I'll try again. :P

I like them seperately. I like cranberry juice. I like gin. But not, I discovered tonight, in the same glass.

It tastes like new and improved Ny-Quil.

So, what's your awful drink?

17. Gin and cola. Don't try that one, kiddies.
I was 16. We honestly had no idea what to mix it with. By the time we got to the gin and grapefruit juice, the most palatable (but still not great), it really didn't matter. I was hungover until 3 p.m. the next day.

Gin, vermouth, olive.
Gin, tonic, lime.

That's about it. I've been recently drinking Bombay Sapphire, rocks, olives, that's it.

It could be DIET cola and gin.

45. What is Diet Tonic Water?
Tonic water is carbonated water with quinine in it. It's got zero calories.

Have they invented a water with negative calories?

Compare the labels of Schweppes Tonic Water to Schweppes Diet Tonic Water. Likewise, do the same with Canada Dry. POLAR is out of Worcester, MA, but it's the same deal. "Contains" a lot more than you thought.

36. Well, started drinking the shit not knowing what it was
I was at my cousin's party and he was mixing the drinks (I could have kicked his ass when I found out what he was fixing me). I was young and stupid and trying to get drunk, and I succeeded! I was sick in bed for three days, and took two of those days for me to get all the feeling back in my limbs. Worse thing was that it was at my aunt's lake house and the WHOLE family was there, so I got drunk - really drunk - in front of ALL the relatives. That was 20 years ago, and the still haven't let me live it down. Funny thing is, 20 years later I can still taste the shit.

29. The result of a "Hairy Buffalo" party...
...this is a Hoosier thing I discovered while living there...you get a very large trash barrell and line it with a comparable plastic bag (lawn and leaf bags are ok, just make sure it is strong and leak proof) fill it half way with ice at 7:30, set it by the door, and invite as many friends as you can at 8:00...everybody brings their choice of alcohol and immediately dumps it in the trash barrell...beer, wine, liquors, it doesn't matter. stir with a canoe paddle or baseball bat and start scooping it into cups around 8:30. Depending on your friends, it may be remarkably good, or remarkably terrible...

39. That one you have to drink immediately
before the curds set in.

And truthfully, one should never drink cheap anything - not just for the taste, but the cheap stuff also has a lot of impurities and other nasty things that will increaze the hangover. The good stuff doesn't have all that junk (as well as tastes better).

My Friends and I (in an attempt to stay up studying one night) mixed coffee and Diet Coke together. Even my friends, who happen to like coffee and Diet coke separately, thought that it tasted HORRIBLE! The caffeine in that drink didn't keep us up, the god awful taste did.

32. I'm not even sure what it was...
I didn't mix it but my alcoholic college theater friend did. This boy could drink anything. He once got alcohol poisoning and blamed it not on the fact that he drank 27 beers (how a 150 lb boy did this is beyond me) but on the fact that on his 27th beer he switched from Heineken to Yuengling. Anyway, it probably consisted of Smirnoff Vodka, Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum, some whiskey, something else, and most definitely mountain dew.

It was handed to me in a big plastic cup. I described it as, "This tastes like a Christmas tree." I don't know, but it made perfect sense. We wrote it down. I'm not even at that college anymore, but when I visit, that line still gets brought up.

34. A friend and I were mixing drinks simultaneously
I was making a rum and coke, my friend a black Russian. After pouring the spirits into the glasses the phone rang and I went off to get it. I come back, and finish making my drink, take a sip and think "gee I don't taste any rum". My friend had accidentally taken my rum and added Kahlua. We decided that if there were Black Russians then using rum would make it a Black Puerto-Rican. My friend's judgement was that it was a terrible drink.

Shot of Rum/Vodka. 4 shots of fruit juice concentrate. 7-Up/Sparkling Lemonade. Leave a good inch at top of glass. Add sugar (2 TABLESPOONS - I mean table, not tea). Down in one before the froth goes everywhere.

Then peel yourself off the ceiling.
