Pedestrian struck by motorcycle, police car
A 41-year-old New Orleans man was killed when he was hit by a man on a stolen motorcycle, then run over by a police car responding to the incident, police said.

The accident happened in eastern New Orleans late Wednesday night.
The driver of the motorcycle, which flipped, escaped on foot, police said.

Ronald Porter died at the scene, police said. It's not clear whether he died from injuries suffered after being hit by the motorcycle, or by the police car, police said. The results of an autopsy were expected Thursday night, said John Gagliano, chief investigator for the coroner's office.

Police said Porter got off a bus and was crossing the road in the 10300 block of North Interstate 10 Service Road shortly after 11 p.m. when he was struck by a 2003 Kawasaki motorcycle that police said was traveling recklessly, police said.
