Desire opinions on my dog Reba's breeds
Reba was abandoned before being taken to the SPCA, so I don't know her breeds. My guess is maybe a mix of German Shepherd, Golden Retriever, and Collie. I created a page with 5 pictures to help. You can kind of see in one that she has a bushy tail. She has made a pointing motion before (though rarely,) and she goes after little animals. She has a great personality - highly intelligent, very friendly with people and loving, spirited in a good way without being too disobedient, fun, affectionate (licks a lot.) She doesn't like other dogs, but that's just one thing. She weighs about 110 pounds, but she is overweight by maybe 15 pounds. Some pictures have the shadow of the picture taker - it is not me.

So what do you think?

1. My uneducated guess...
German Shepherd and Golden Retriever. Not sure about Collie.

I had a Golden, and she sure has a body like his. Same stature, same expressive face. She's a cutie!

4. I've heard someone else say no collie
That the white under her chin could still be from the other breeds. Thanks to all for the opinions!

2. I think you're right on target
G-shep, Golden Retriever, and Collie looks most likely to me too!

5. Reba looks like my Smokey!
I wish I had the ability to post pictures. Smokey was my dog that passed away in 1987. His mother was a German Shepherd and we think she mated with a Golden Retriever (or mix).

Anyway, definitely Reba is Shepherd/Retriever. Smokey hated all other dogs, but was very affectionate with humans. He loved to retrieve and play frisbee. Also, he was very vocal and I swear he was trying to talk to us - he made an incredible amount of sounds.

On DU, just post the link to the picture. On some pages, you use <img src.="link"> - without the period.

Cool that you're confident. :-)

on edit: made directions for posting pictures more detailed

12. Thanks for the directions!
The problem is I don't have a scanner or digital camera :-(. In the event I ever get one, maybe I can get some pictures together of Smokey. The likeness is amazing.

6. Looks like a collie mix to me. I had a shepherd/collie mix before..
She didn't look like that. Mine was predominately shepherd.

9. Belgian Malinois or Tervuren
They look a lot like Shepards, but with a little bit of collie-ness and darker color. What a cutie Reba is!

11. Based on her ears and coloring, I would suggest she is a Shepherd
and Gordon Setter mix. Gordon setters have similar coloring to Shepherds and the ears are very much like theirs
