Do you have a guilty pleasure?

I had to admit mine to a group of friends the other night. I love The Bridges of Madison County. Shameful, but it's true. I even liked the film. I knew it was a turkey, but I couldn't stop myself from watching, or buying the DVD. The poetry is bad. It's hokey. But I love it!

The first step is admitting the problem.

1. Battlefield Earth

funniest movie ever. I screen it at least twice a year for friends and it's always a howl.

2. "Waterworld"

It's a great late-night, half-in-the-bag movie. Totally mindless entertainment.

3. Howard The Duck

The film was universally excoriated upon its release in 1987, but I must admit, I got a kick out of it. Not enough to buy it on VHS or DVD, though. :)

4. Ferris Bueller's Day Off...

Yeah, I know... It's Dan Quayle's favorite film... but I really get a kick out of this movie...

I also enjoy Oscar (the Stallone comedy about mobsters trying to go straight...)

5. Those stupid shows on VH1

I love the 80s/70s...The 100 Best Whatever of All Time. They're mind-numbingly dumb! But I can sit down in front of the TV and completely space out watching them. I partially do it to get back at my roommate for making me watch American Idol twice a week.

I just love that movie!
