:-)

It's Franz Ferdinand.

Never heard any of their tracks. Are they any good?

Cheers, y'all

2. I've heard a few of their songs
Good dance music, if you're so inclined. I'd listen to them in a club if I were in the mood to dance, but that's about it.

4. I think I missed their show...
Maybe I need to look them up. I like dance music as long as it ain't techno/trance stuff...

5. I haven't listened to enough to really give a great review
Might be bordering on techno, but better than most. They'll do well in the clubs, but I can't see any major radio airplay in their future.

6. If Franz Ferdinand is who I think they are...
...then their debut CD was reviewed on NPR a few weeks ago. And the review was glowing!

7. It was
That's where I heard of them and afterwards, checked out a few of their songs. Not sure they deserved a glowing review, but they weren't half bad :)

9. These guys are good, watch out for them
I have their debut album (self-titled). I like it quite a bit. They were featured as a "Band to Watch" in a recent issue of "Spin".

Their stuff is dance-rock, but not electronic at all. It's a standard four-piece band. Good musicianship, a couple of the guys are classically trained. Incredible hooks! Really up-tempo stuff.

As far as radio play, maybe commerical radio won't touch them, at least now, but you can hear them on Indie 103 out here in LA. Probably on other indie or college stations as well. They sold out their June 5 show here in LA at the Wiltern rather quickly and added a second date for June 6, and I'll be there

They're out of Glasgow, here's their website:

11. It would probably be a fun show regardless
Even if you weren't totally into the band, their style and tempo would make for a good time. Their stuff is nothing if not fun, IMO, and if you dig it, even better.

12. Cool...if I'm free I may give them a listen (if they ain't sold out)
:-)

Thanks for the advice. I heard of them, but really was clueless on their music.

One just did a trumpet solo here in the hotel lobby. Pretty good. :-)
