1. It's pseudointellectual nonsense, makes Herman Hesse look like
Socrates.

2. Great review. Put a smile on my face.
Makes Herman Hesse look like Socrates.

That's a good one. Very apt.

3. Actually, I'm about twenty pages away
from the end and I've enjoyed every page so far. I think it's very intricately plotted and well-done. But then, everyone has their own tastes and opinions, and it may just not be your thing.

4. Be aware of the rest of Dan Brown's books
DaVinci code is the best ... the rest are very 'light' and very predictable

6. Chapter 12 is on about page 6, right?
Edited on Wed May-05-04 04:54 PM by Richardo
The characters get more and more idiotic with each of the 100+ 3-page chapters. Code breaking "specialists" that can't see a simple anagram right in front of their noses.

Brown relied on this device to build tension (I guess :eyes: )in "Digital Fortress" too. Code expert did not see a crucial anagram for 200+ pages.

Abandon ship!

7. No
I found it entertaining enough but nothing special. It runs at pretty much the same pace with a quick pick up of action near the end. The book feels like it was written for the express purpose of being translated to a screenplay...

8. A healthy dose of suspension of disbelief is necessary
to enjoy this book, I think.
