My ex-husband was robbed with a gun to his head, and a friend's husband was shot and killed several years ago.

I am sure it was awfully traumatic for your wife, but thank heavens she was only pushed down! An event like this really drives home how insignificant money really is, doesn't it? When my ex was robbed, all we could think of was how happy we were that all they wanted was money, even though at that time, we were so broke, and had been stressing so much about money.
