Are all the reality shows real?
I was reading People Magazine today.

Well, there's manipulation in Survivor and the demeaning and voting off that we see in 15 minutes actually took hours to do, they just cut out the hours of dullness to get to the snap-at-em stuff.

Queer Eye for the Straight Guy (a misleading title, the 5 gay men who drive in a godawful SUV aren't trying to hit on the hetero) is 100% true, or as true as 'reality' tv can get; what goes by in minutes takes hours and days to do...

The Apprentice? 100% pure BULL SHIT. All the rooms are sets, it is not a real office. How they deal with characters is total manipulation that makes Survivor seem honest by comparison.

The American Idol folk claim it's up to the callers. (So let's audit AT & bloody T then...)

1. They're As Real As Gumby
But what irks me the most is that they're reported as "News."

3. It is all editing
I've never been on a reality show, but I can't think of anything less real then reality TV. still, if you like it, ride it.

5. Contestants are persuaded to vote off unpopular contestants...
The fans want to see the popular people or at least the freaks.

Richard Hatch is a freak (Both gay AND a republican, what more can you ask for?) Ever read that book he wrote after he made his $1 mil? :puke:

6. If you have any proof of "persuasion"
Stacy Stillman would love to see it. She's sued them, but it's not working for her. Virtually every other person on her tribe that season has testified that there was no persuasion, adn that she's a loon. The one person who's supporting her claim has fairly questionable motives.

As for your personal attacks on Richard Hatch, whatever.

Did you know that Hatch was thought to be the most likely person booted off first when he was cast? And how are they supposed to know who the most popular people are before the show even airs, anyway?

Generally, the "most deserving" player doesn't win, anyway, pretty much destroying the theory that they fix the games.
