who would buy Fantasia's album?
I am just curious. Her rendition of Summertime was incredible, but I hope they will not try to make her too pop and dilated.

2. Won't buy it but
I think she sings great.
I didn't but Kelly's or Rueben's but I do enjoy their songs.

3. I think she sounds like a poor mans Macy Gray...
... and I don't like Macy Gray.

8. Ditto!
Macy Gray's voice is the equivalent of someone taking their nails and scratching a chalkboard IMO. It grates my nerves. I place Fantasia's voice in the same category, but a few notches down (or a few notches up depending on how you look at it because her voice annoys me even more).

No, thanks. I'll pass.

4. I don't buy many albums.
...but I would consider buying hers if I was looking to buy something. She's really a great singer and I'm glad she won.

Best American Idol winner yet, I think. I liked both Kelly and Reuben and thought they were the best in their seasons, too, but Fantasia is really pretty unique and amazing.

5. Summertime WAS incredible although...
I'd have to hear her CD first. I hate pop.

9. Me too
She lives in my city and I just hope that they do not try to make her a POP Artist, because it would be a crime to water down that voice and Clive Dasvis is known for doing that.

10. We are neighbors
I live in WS. Everyone was going nuts in the triad weren't they?
I feel the same way you do about the music. That would be a waste.

13. Am in G'boro
I just found out this week that she was living here, but she is from HP. The young lady has the TOTAL package, voice and personality and a good stylist can work on everything else.

7. Summertime
My wife loves American Idol. I refused to watch it. I figured it was just another Fox network show designed to ridicule hopeful stars. But I happened to be in the room with my wife when Fantasia sang Summertime, and I was completely blown away by her performance. I would pay a lot to see her perform that in person.

11. She is the American Dream
and like she said, she has been through some things and it comes out in her voice. She does not remind me of Macy Gray, but I young Patty Labelle. She takes hold of an audience and does not let go until she is damn ready. And the most unbelievable part is, she is only 19!

16. she is an incredible young woman
who turned a bubblegum, plastic talent show on its head by being herself. Showing all her warts and troubled past with a giant smile on her face the whole time.
