24. Great album (if not entirely authentic - lot of overdubs)
If you want some REAL live Zeppelin, check out www.sharingthegroove.org Lots of other bands there as well. Listening to a Zep show from 5-26-77 currently from Landover Maryland.

7. Led Zep 1 - Greatest breakup album ever?
I've had women tell me they listen to sappy love songs when they end a relationship. I always listen to Led Zepplin 1. Lots of great songs about women doing you wrong, from Dazed and Confused to Your Time is Gonna Come. It always helps me get over a mean woman. One of the greatest albums of all time.

13. Alice in Chains rules
I have all their albums and I can't think of one happy song. They're my favorite band of all time. I'm depressed a lot.

20. Is it the facial structure of all 4 the reason for the lineup?
I've seen it several times, and wondered. And does it mean one of the first three is from the lineage of Jesus? If so, my bet would be on OBL.

25. Except Bobby Plant wasn't suggesting heroin as a cure for breakups.
Page might have, but he wasn't writing the lyrics.

10. I am one of the lucky ones!
A few years back John Paul Jones recorded an album and went on tour with Diamanda Galas (!)

I went to see them at that most noteworthy of venues, the Portland Art Museum...There was a drummer, Jonesy played bass and Galas had keyboards...for an encore they did "Communication Breakdown" For being witness to that I owe a debt of gratitude to Led Zeppelin, for without them that song would never been written, Jones would never been in Zep, and my chest hairs wouldn't be curling at this moment remembering that moment!

Oh yeah, I'm being just a little sarcastic...Zep were great, drove from Portland to Vancouver BC to see them, loved them "back in the day"

Bought all the remastered cds, even the 2nd album which only has one good song on it, "Living Loving Maid", and that's only because it has a good hook...Funny thing is I used to like that lp, now I don't...I used to dislike the 3rd, now I think it's maybe their best (along with the 1st).

single-handedly redeems the entire album/concept. Jimmy Page at the top of his game. Need I say more?

22. Positively the most overrated band of all time
...

Gimme Rory Gallagher, Ritchie Blackmore or Tony Iommi over Page any day.

Not to mention Jeff Beck...

27. Iommi? Blackmore? over Page?
Gallagher I don't know enough about.

But as to Beck , If not for Jimi Hendrix Beck would be known as the greatest guitar player ever, his last two albums have been steller...
