My secret sin: I watch beauty pageants...mostly for the evening gown |
|
and and talent competitions.
Please understand, my parter and I are not sexists-we just grew up enjoying these silly pageants.
Tonight, Ms Australia won the Ms Universe pageant
Does anyone else share this sickness?

Those of us with proper noble breeding tend to wear expensive jewelry well! Its in our genes (jeans?)!

8. There Are Pictures... But I Don't Know What Happened To Them |
|
The tiara (and photos) belonged to my friend, Tim... but I don't have a clue what happened to his photo albums after he left us.
However... you'll just have to use your imagination. We were around a campfire, getting drunk, doing half-hearted make-up-free drag shows to Reba (mine was "Does He Love You (Like He Loves Me)") --- Dish towels and bath towels served as wigs... sheets and jackets tied around the waist served as dresses and skirts.
It was a blast. Once in a lifetime, never to be repeated. Always to be remembered.

I wouldn't have missed the Miss America Pageant for anything, but that's been many, many years.

4. We had parties, drank champagne and picked our choices! |
|
It was much fun. Sadly, as the years have gone by, its dwindled to just me and my guy.

6. Miss America Parties and Oscar Parties Are Fun |
|
I know exactly what you mean. You figure you'll skip one year's party but you promise yourself to make it up by having an even BIGGER party the following year. But after it's over, you're more RELIEVED than disappointed that you didn't have (or attend) that big Miss America to-to.
Then one year missed, becomes two years missed... then you figure ""fuck it"... where are my slippers? Get my robe! Honey, grab me a beer! Come on in here and let's watch Miss America in our underwear and reminisce about when we used to throw Miss America parties."
Does that pretty much cover it?
Love, Allen
