Always a coversation piece, if either of you have any, or plans for having them.
If no kids, what situation would you want to be in before children. (this may be too much for a first date)
IF kids- have them tell you about them. You can learn a fair amount about a person from this answer

5. I think that might be a little much to start with... |
|
I don't think she has any kids, & I don't want to bring it up in case a) she has & thinks I'll be scared off b) she thinks I'm getting too forward

I thought I might get a full screening, while I'm there. Just need to make sure it doesn't go on my record.

Some of my questions have been for later dates.
Sports? any interest? if so what? No interest from her-drop it quickly.
Family questions-Parents, siblings.
Personal history-where did you grow up, school history-level of education was important for me.

16. You do deserve an honorary vote. OK, how about versatility? You |
|
talk about whatever inspires you for the moment and you don't rely exclusively on a planned series of topics? Respond to what your date says that reflects that you were listening carefully and add your opinions to that? And don't forget humor. That's a big factor towards a second date. Have fun no matter what.

Most of these should give you more than a yes or no answer so you can keep the conversation going. :-)
a) Favorite color and why? b) Funniest thing that's ever happened to you? c) Favorite person and why? d) What makes you happy? e) What makes you sad? f) Favorite films and why? g) Favorite ice cream flavor? h) What's the nicest thing anyone has ever said to you? i) Favorite place in ? j) Where do you like to go on vacation? k) What do you do? What would be your ideal job if you could do anything? l) Favorite place you've ever traveled and why? m) Chocolate or vanilla?
Okay. Now I'm just getting silly. Good luck! Hope you hit it off!
When ordering lunch, here's a good tip. If all else fails, go for the Club Sandwich.

Ok, I'm bad :P
Just ask about her interests - music, movies, politics, etc!
You'll be fine!
