Oh, those wacky co-workers!
Edited on Wed Jun-02-04 01:45 PM by Bertha Venation
A co-worker just came in from lunch and told me that a cicada had gotten into her hair (long, braided extensions, thousands of 'em). She was, naturally, freaked.

Then she said, "I hope it didn't lay anything in my hair."

:blankstare:

I tried to reassure her that it did not, but she wouldn't be calmed. She said "How do you know?!" Finally, I said, "Because only the males fly." That worked.

What goofy things have your co-workers said lately?

1. I didn't know that about cicadas.
But as far as stupid coworkers go, we're just as cursed as anyone. People who are, in effect, intra-company clients asking me how they should do their jobs. Well, no one over there has any clue about anything, and their incompetence means we have to spend many hours at work at the last minute instead of being able to pace our work.

3. When we were kids we put them in our hats.
I did have a female deputy come out of her shirt, vest, and t-shirt while on a traffic stop. All caught on her dash cam. Seems a yellow jacket paid her a visit.

9. This is a true story:
A few years back, I worked with a woman who had a Master's degree (in English literature, so it's not relevant except to say that she wasn't a complete 'moran'), who said, in all seriousness, that she'd been running out of gas on the freeway the night before, so SHE DROVE FASTER SO THAT SHE'D GET HOME BEFORE SHE RAN OUT.

I never could quite get her to believe that driving faster would cause her to burn gas at a higher rate. I think she was convinced I was just yanking her chain.
