Pen & Paper RPG'ers - ever used SPECIAL? |
|
I am planning on a Tremors/Cthulu-type game, and have been looking at different systems. My husband suggested SPECIAL, the system used for Fallout. I know it has been translated to the PnP world, because I have the PDF somewhere... but I've never used it. Has anyone here?

(there's always a) but, well... yeah. Ryan, who turns out to be a S&M lover, decided that a Future/Cthulhu game would be a great distraction. He failed to mention that he would be the only one having fun...
IE: carefull who you play with. But if you get the right people, any game system can be fun.

with the one guy (my husband) for nearly 15 years. The other players are our best friends. Actually, we've all also been playing this fantasy RPG (using Rolemaster) for over 5 years now; I think we've got the long-term thing going on :-)
I was more looking for advice on the weapons systems and overall combat playability. I know there's no magic in SPECIAL, so I'd probably just port over some RM rules. This is meant to be a 2-3 session game.
