Why do most states tax the pensions of out-of-state'rs who move |
|
there? Wouldn't they be glad to encourage new residents in order to increase their tax base? Or do they think they (retirees) would be more of a potential financial burden than a help? If the latter, it seems like old fashioned thinking considering all the very young retirees out there nowadays.

2. Right! We were thinking about moving to Iowa but now I hear they |
|
have a big tax (7%) on out of state retiree pensions. Doesn't seem very smart.

Can't tax a factory, or they'll go elsewhere. Gotta give a tax break to Bass Pro Shop, or they'll go elsewhere.

5. But I would be a good little spender, buy a house, maybe get a job |
