24. 3 last summer:
I think I've got them in the right order.

Dylan: Pacific Ampitheatre.
Neil Young: The Greek
Eels: Henry Fonda Theater

I saw Clapton about 5 years ago, touring for Pilgrim. In Vegas, at the MGM. He was not particularly warm with the audience, but it didn't matter. I was only watching him live halftime. The rest of the time I was focused on his hands on the guitar, on the closeup screen. Mesmerizing.

The Sex Pistols; yup, the sex pistols, in 2003
I saw them in atlantic city. All four original members. They were fantastic. I know the difference between pathetic old bands ruining what reputation they had, and a band that still plays with some passion. And either they all learned how to play after they broke up, or they were pretty proficient to begin with, and the drunken-drugged out musical joke thing was all just hype to begin with. One of the tightest bands I ever saw. Awesome. I saw the band that changed rock and roll, one of the the most influential bands since the beatles.

55. Sloan.
Twice, in fact -- a couple of weeks ago, at the Metro in Chicago (we ran away from home for the weekend because we like running away from home), and a week and a half earlier at the 20th Century in Cincinnati.

The Metro is a great venue for a cult band -- just the right size, and not many bad spots unless you're really short.

Totally spaced the Todd Rundgren show in Columbus a week earlier than the Cinci Sloan show. We'd gotten the date wrong, missed it by a few days.

first off, PIXIES REUINION rocked! Having missed them live the first time around, that was a big deal for me.

Radiohead were EXCELLENT; that was the second time I've seen them in the past year, and I definitely have to recommend them if they come through yuor town.

Flaming Lips; great and funny as shit as per usual, but their set was way too short.

Lots of great music that weekend.
