6/6/04 D-Day PARTY-Free chicken and hot dogs!!!! BANDS!!!

Not mine but the corner store has this every year, a customer appreciation day. The Patterson Express is as Patterson and Belmont in the "Museum District" of Richmond (three blocks past Boulevard).

Dave (hence the "D-Day") puts it on every year and this year there are three bands playing. He's a Harley guy who used to actually run tabs (imagine that) and delivers groceries to some older/handicapped people in the neighborhood, a great guy.

Fleshy Mountain Boys lead off- a bluegrass band with hilarious and dirty songs. Smothered, covered, & ________ (something) are after all that then another band.

Free soft drinks too!!! But you can bring your own beer/adult beverage and drink right there in the open-the cops dome by but only for the free food and don't hassle anyone.

I can't stay too long-we have to go see my wife's co-worker play in the America Cup Soccer tournament (somehting like that).

If you are in the Richmond area come on by. I'll be the one with the red shorts on.

AS Dave puts it on the flier in the store "Come on........not the beaches of Normandy......but the b______ of Patterson and Belmont". :evilgrin:
