For those of us who are not allowed to marry & those who can but don't
want to.

In one month I will have been with my partner 11 years, Considering I am am 40, I consider this a milestone. We don't have the money right now but when we do we plan on going to MA to get married. it may not be legal in Florida, but it's a start for us. I love him with all my heart. Anyone else?

3. Our Systems Administrator here is a afriend of mine
he's been with his partner for 7 years and they are currently trying to adopt a child from D.C. (they live in Maryland). I spoke to him about this yesterday. He and his partner also considered it. The adoption process is a slow one. He's a kind, patient thoughtful person. I know he and his partner will make good parents.

4. Honey, if I had the financial resources, I'd head up to Toronto so fast...
My partner, Doug, and I have been together 5 years. And if I had the financial resources, I'd be be getting married to him in a heartbeat. Doug is the man I want to grow old with. I love him more than yesterday and less than tomorrow. I always find something else that I love about him when we're together.

10. You have one old Florida hetersexual
Working his but off to get rid of Jebbie and his wackos so you would not have to leave your home to do what you feel is the right thing to do.

But you might apply to some of their faith based charities for the travel funds. It seems to me that would be what they are for. Preserve an American family.

13. Thank you, you Florida heterosexual you!
And, for those who don't know.... Florida is the ONE state in this great country of ours that does not allow a homosexual to adopt a child.

14. When, exactly, will that deplorable situation change?
Christ, are ALL the Bushes homophobic assholes?

I hope Florida reverses that soon. There's no excuse for that kind of ignorant bullshit.

15. You're making me misty!
I love stories like yours. Gives me hope.

I have friends who went to TO to marry on their 10th anniversary. They'd been wearing rings for 10 years, and at their ceremony they exchanged rings with each other--the same rings! Each now wears the other's ring. Is that cool or what?

A little bit of bad news, though--I think Mass has stopped marrying non-residents.
