when good hard drives go bad
Here's a pic of the innards of my 40gig IBM drive that crashed last year. The heads crashed on the platters and scratched the magnetic surface off, right down to the plastic.

2. i'm not sure.....it started making funny noises.....and then it crashed
I got almost all of the data from it. I now have two backup drives.

11. Seagate makes the best in my opinion,it`s been in my computer for 6 years
