"Brave New World" on Sci-Fi channel now.
Edited on Fri Jun-04-04 10:13 PM by Cleita
I had to read it in high school, in Catholic school no less, along with "1984" back in the fifties. We are referring to "1984" everyday now. But this story is about if science goes amok and becomes really fascist in a bio-science way.

2. I'm reading 1984 right now

It's spooky the parrallells with the Radical Right. The whole "News Speak" thing is so Newt Gingrich. The warping of words until they have no meaning is amazing.

The constant attacks with "buzz bombs" remind me of terrorist attacks. The constant reminders that there is an "enemy" out there. The state of "perpetual warfare". And of course there are the "total information awarness" programs as well as the "sneak and peak" warrants.

Screw Machievelli, these are the Mayberry Orwellians.
