I started Adaware and Spybot at the same time...
Adaware finished in about 2 minutes. Spybot is still going, and has another 6,000 spyware and adware programs to look for. Adaware found a cookie. update later.

1. I have adaware. It does what you say.
But Spybot would simply freeze up. I finally uninstalled it.

2. just the opposite for me. Adaware takes YEARS to run, while spybot
cruises thru and WHAM,it's done.

Huh. Go figure.

3. Did adware find all the crap spybot loads
And the other way around? It would be kind of funny if they canceled each other out and your computer went into a black hole.

4. And the answer is in: Spybot found...
the same cookie. But it told me what it was, which is cool...

Oh, and I had to uninstall Adaware before because Spybot always found things adaware missed.

7. How bizarre. Yeah. DSO is spyware
But Spybot has glitch so that it finds it but can't delete it.

I had my sister--WHO KNOWS WHAT SHE'S DOING--edit the registry to delete it (don't try this at home, folks).

9. You need more than a hammer
My toolkit that I take with me when I go on-site for a radical exorcision of Windows includes AdAware, Spybot, CWShredder, the CoolWebSearch mini-removal tool, Hijack This, and AntiVir and Norton WinDoctor.
