Raygun's death will make me rich
ha ha,
all through Reagan's administration my father collected Reagan postcards that our family sent him as a joke. There are some hilarious and artful images of him and the collection, which I now have, is quite huge. I am gloating in anticipation of putting it on eBay right after the old dumbass (REAGAN, that is!) dies.

greed prompts me to ask for opinions: would the collection appreciate even more with more passing years, or is the time immediately following his death the time when it would be most valuable? (seems like I've seen other items rise steeply in price when a person dies and then sort of fade into oblivion with the passing years).

1. Take the fuckers at the cutting edge
and then give the money to Planned Parenthood in the name of 'Ronald Reagan.'

7. oh, now that would be rich
--too bad I'm a victim of his economic legacy, literally scraping out my penny jar to buy food and gas, or I'd do just what you say.

10. Brilliant idea...
or even better set up a fund with some of the money so that it can keep giving Planned Parenthood funds forever.

4. Gonna have to do it right after he dies
He doesn't have the kind of legacy that will make those things worth more through passing time, unless you are willing to save them and let your great grandkids cash in a hundred years from now.

Gotta get all the weepy freeper idiots when they're in their state of mourning and wondering why, why, o why, did God make Ronnie suffer so and take him from us?

I'd put 'em up the minute you hear that pathetic, wasted filth of an evil hate-filled human being dies.

8. I think you should do it within minutes of his death
then you should hopefully end up at the top of the ebay search lists, in hope that you'd have more votes and higher prices in case people search on prices; but certainly if people list things based on auction time left, you'll be at the top.

I could be wrong, but that's how I reason it, anyway.

Might not want to call him an evil fuck in the ad copy, though.

11. yes, I will also be writing some brilliant copy
--I've found with selling on eBay I just have to say what they want to hear, for items I wouldn't personally touch with a 10-ft pole.

Please don't get me wrong, I just respect the idea that what is a very dumb/useless/hideous/politically incorrect item to me is beautiful and coveted to someone else. At worst I will maintain a neutral tone.

13. Oh, hell, forget integrity - it's business!
As the republicans, led by Raygun, would say.

I'd do copy like "Get a copy of this photo of a true American patriot, the man who destroyed communism and brought down Russia, a man of God who wasn't afraid to pray in public who believed in America and brought us forward through our darkest era since the Civil War, fighting off liberals and other anti-Americans like the ACLU and welfare queens."

19. Yes, make it sappy and sentimental.
I think it's a great idea. Have it all ready to go when we get "the word." Give us links too, when you're done, so we can follow along with the fun! ;)

20. ha ha, will do that
I worked on it for a while--and realized it'd be hard to be TOO sappy and sentimental when so many of the cards are satirical:

12. Ronnie must be near the end-I just walked by the TV and footage was on
I asked my wife "Did he die?!?!" No they were just talking about his Alzheimers but they have officially said that it is near the end.

14. Remember the Time Mag. cover w/Ronnie in jeans
and western shirt with his hands in his back pockets? I framed that pic with the caption "Finally finding his ass with both hands" and gave it to my repug father-in law, just to see how many shades of red he could turn in under a minute. Wish I had that back again.

17. Let's start making the T-shirts now.
And the bobble-heads, the pendants, the silver coins, and all the other assorted trinkets. Someone with the right connections could clean up with the mass gop orgasm that's coming. Don't forget the velvet Ronnie pics either.
