I had a woodtick bite into me this morning.
I hate those things! They're hard and they have many legs and they're related to spiders! God I hate spiders! I hate woodticks even worse!

I had to use rubbing alcohol and tweezers to remove the damn thing. After I got it out, I burned it. They do burn really well...

1. Welcome to the woods
I get tick bites all the time. The little seed ticks are hardest to get off-I use duct tape. Burning them is a good way to get rid of them-they enjoy heat and so die really happy.

You haven't really had a tick bite until you've had one in your genital area, though. Enough said.

4. Oh, c'mon.
You don't like it when ticks crawl all over your skin and bite into you and suck your blood? ;)

20. Nope. Not in the northwoods.
I'm in the west-central prairies. :( Nothing but flatness and glacial till around.

Yeah...I'm watching out for signs of a deer tick. They leave a target-shaped thing on your skin where they're biting you.

22. Those target shaped rashes
Edited on Sat Jun-05-04 12:43 PM by m-jean03
are a sure sign of Lyme disease, aren't they?

It's easy to treat with antibiotics if you see a doc right away.

Lyme disease symptoms are similar to those of the flu. You may feel tired, have chills and a fever, a headache, muscle and joint pain and swollen lymph nodes. You may get a rash that looks like a red round patch around where the tick bit you. This rash would appear within three days to one month after you are bitten. Sometimes many patches can appear on different parts of the body, like the thigh, groin, trunk and armpits. The centre of the rash can become clear as it gets larger and looks like a bull's-eye. The rash can be warm but is usually not painful.
