1. Ohhh, I LOVE Cockatiels!!
Edited on Sat Jun-05-04 05:53 PM by Unperson 309
Aren't they the cutest, gutsiest little guys?! I had a 'tiel who used to love to knock things off the table onto my dog's head! When the dog would object, the bird would flutter down to his level as if to say "OK, you wanna settle this dog to bird?! Ya wanna PIECE-a me?!"

I always broke it up before fur or feathers became airborne and I never let them alone unsupervised, but the doggone BIRD always *started* it! :) One good *chomp* and the bird would have been toast! Still, the hound was usually the one to back away and look at me as if to say "Hey, it's YOUR damn bird!! I'm just here for the kibble!"

I never clip my birds' wings because flight is their best defense. Also, a soaring cockatiel is a sight to lift the gloomiest of hearts!

Give your little guy some millet and skritch his little head for me!

2. They are so nutty......
Murphee (a little girl, which I found out with all the eggs she laid this year, whew!!!!) starts things with my bunny, Baylee.

it's funny, she climbs on top of HIS cage observing him, and when he makes a little movement in his cage or looks up at her, then she spreads out her wings in an attempt to appear threatening! Hey, Murphee, YOU went over to his cage, I didn't make you!!! :)

And your tiel just "accidentally" knocked things huh? LOL!!! ;)

6. My mother had one 'teil that laid about 20 eggs in her lifetime
"Sandy" was her name. And the week before she died of old age - she laid two more.

My aunt's "Chappy" imitates an ambulance and constantly says "gimme a break, gimme a break" He climbs up on you and gives you bird kisses.

I would have one except for my three cats, and the fact that you have to clean their cages so often.

The volleyball playing cat is my favourite so far.:yourock:

3. Oh, that's cute!
Does Murphee whistle as well? A number of 'tiels learn to whistle tunes, such as "The Andy Griffith Show" theme and "Bridge Over the River Kwai."

8. Gracie is being her usual adorable self.
Thanks for asking. She was sitting on my shoulder earlier making her little noises, and her Uncle John was giving her scritches (at least while she let him.) :-)
