Is that it has an amazing history. It was given to the people of Canada by Lord Stanley in 1887 as a way to unite the country.

It's done it's job.

When I wen to the hockey hall of fame and saw it, I almost cried right there standing in front of what is the most mythical and prized possesion of the country. What it does and says for Canada is un matchable.

Then as I eeked out in the meekest way "Can I touch it?" the security gaurd told me it was a replica....god damn it

6. Yeah, I've got a pic with my arm around it
But still, I remember the stand being wobbley...and thinking "The stanley cup stand wobbles?"

5. The Stanley Cup does not belong in a city like Tampa.
Or any city that has naturally growing palm trees, for that matter.
