I feel worse about Smarty Jones losing the Belmont than Reagan's
expiration at thethe dust at age 93, and I cannot help it. Am I a psychopath? Is something wrong with me?

2. Frankly I don't think anyone is happier about Reagan's death...
than my local bookstore. They've pulled all the Reagan biographies off of the sale shelves and are busy removing the sale price tags and repricing them back to full retail. Ain't capitalism sweet!

4. Lets wait to see
which one sales more books. Smarty Jones attempt to win the triple crown..or another (YAWN) Reagan book.

5. Nothing wrong with you
I found myself, as usual, rooting for the under-horse, but found myself feeling bad about the loss. How could a horse win the preakness by four hundred thousand furlongs, and yet lose the Belmont in the last few furlongs?

I don't get it, and that's why I don't bet on anything.

6. Have some compassion
Even is Reagan was a political anti-christ doesn't mean he deserved to die of Alzhiemer's. He was an overall decent guy. Let's not make the Right think of us as dancing over the dead of our political opposites.

9. No one here gets out alive.
We'd all like to die in our sleep; I suppose, with all our senses intact..........however, its the least likely scenario barring an accident or a heart attack and a DOA....death is usually slow and tortuous and most of us dont have the money for the comforts that Ronnie had....

7. I have zero feelings about Ronnie's death. . .
I would think it was finally a blessing to his family. He's been sick a long time. A lot of people younger than he succumb to various illnesses.

I am, however, devastated about Smarty Jones. I love that horse!

8. I was far more upset about Smarty losing
What a bummer. Reagan on the other hand. . . not so much. Okay, NOT AT ALL. Guys, he was 93. He'd had Alzheimers for 10 friggin' years!

10. OK, now I think there's a Philly curse
:grr:

I think the jockey made a mistake in urging Smarty on so early, and the horse who won wasn't in all 3 races, so it was improbable. Still, that ending was the story of Philly sports fans' lives.

11. Me too
I was crushed when Smarty lost in the final furlongs. They've always called the Belmont Park stretch the "Graveyard of Champions", and we saw why yesterday.
