I'm going on vacation in Washington from late June to mid July and have tickets to see Steve Earle on June 30th.

Saw Moody Blues there last night, saw Ringo there, and a great Beatle tribute band-'1964'. Small, organized, no traffic jams, food, beer, polite crowds.... Ahhhhh, pleasant!

It is the best of the best. It is the program more than anything. Tanglewood does rule (at least in the classical world).

You might not be able to see the band (unless you're one of the few who bought a seat), but you can bring a wagonload of drink and food -- as elaborate as you want -- in a forest preserve setting.
