As an associate attorney, I made $8.75 on the hour. As a cocktail waitress, I made an average $27.50 per hour.

Yeah, as a patent agent, I have had to meet a billable hours target. Finally quit when I got burned out cranking out 20 pages a week of patents.

I have decided to go to law school. But I just want to get a little experience, then go solo with family law and/or criminal.

Geez, that hourly calculation sounds pretty low!

...just take a look at the federal hiring notices. After all what does a dictatorship need more of, lawyers or interrogators? This is what happens when you shift a few hundred billion away from the legitimate pursuit of peaceful and profitable civilian pursuits and go on the war path. It's all about community priorities now dictated by Washington.

A funny note is that the attorney working for next to nothing, like a unskilled laborer, is supposed to be so lucky and fulfulled in his vocation that he is to volunteer his time and expertise for nothing to the less fortunate, as if he wasn't in a desparate situation himself.
