What deep fryer should I get?

I am planning to get a deep fryer for all that fried goodness (hmmm... eggrolls). I want to try to get a pretty good one for under 50 bucks. Anyone had any good (or bad) experiences with inexpensive deep fryers?

1. I got a cheap one...

around here somewhere. Haven't used it in years, but it did work very well when I got it. I think I paid under 20 bucks for the thing in some discount store.

I stuck it in the back of a closet when I realized I only used it once a month or so, and it was easier to fill a big ol' pot or wok with oil and heat it on the stove. A fry thermometer comes in handy to check the oil temp, even with the electric ones-- the thermostats are not always reliable.

2. There's always the good old fry-daddy...

or fry-grandaddy... You'll end up doing batches either way, but they're fairly reliable.

Or you could go industrial-
"You can flash fry a buffalo in thirty seconds with this thing"
