So, I gotta make a speech at my friend's wedding next month

Um, what is appropriate wedding speech material? Can I tell them about the time him and his girlfriend got in a fight and broke up - then he came to my place and drank a bottle of rum, while she was crying to me on the phone. -Then he puked.

Anything to avoid - I've never really done this.
