Poll question: Which Of Your Parents Was The Good Cop & Which Was The Bad Cop?
When you misbehaved as a child and were punished by your parents, which one usually meted out the punishment?

Which one instilled the fear of death into you?

And which one did you know you could always count on to be lenient?

For me, my mom was the bad cop and my dad was the good cop. Mom would set the punishment and dad would carry it out, but never as my mom intended. I always got off light when my dad had to dish out the punishment. But if it was my mom doing it - man, was I in trouble.

You?

1. Mom was a pushover
Dad still scares me, and I'm 36 years old!

call home), my dad was the yeller and my mom was more of roll her eyes and shake her head.

When things went a lot wrong (got busted for smoking, got busted for dating someone way too old and lying about it), by dad was the lecturer and my mom was the yeller.

Lectures were far worse than yelling.

I guess it's a toss-up.

6. Mom did most of the punishing...unless I REALLY screwed up.
Then Dad would get on me, but usually not harshly enough to suit my mother, who would then get mad at HIM. I'd take the opportunity to slink off, until they noticed I was gone.

7. Mom was the only cop
Until I was 13, then I just laughed at a spanking. Stopped that real quick.

9. Acutally, both mine were good cops
My dad was able to instill more fear in our hearts, but they were both eminently reasonable.
