2. People who cannot unsubscribe from an email list.

they don't want to be on the list anymore, so they send out an email to the entire group saying, "please unsubscribe me!" as though such a thing requires the collective will of the entire internet. as opposed to, say, following the simple instructions at the bottom of every single email received via the list.

behind 20 something male going 45 in a 55 zone. I passed him, he accelerated while I was passing. I was doing 65 he was tailgating. He passed then went down to 50. Being passed is not a function of penis size. Why do some young males act like it is?

>Being passed is not a function of penis size.<

Earlier today, I am driving through beautiful Redmond, WA, home of Microsoft (and a very proactive police force.) I am doing the speed limit. The woman behind me is riding my tail. I speed up a bit, she's still tailgating. She just about hit me twice -- I had to brake because the car in front of me did; evidently, she thought she could just drive through me.

She finally whipped around in front of me. You'll never, ever guess what was on her car.

Wait for it...

Wait for it...

I know everyone needs to make a living, but inviting yourself "in" to my home by phoning me is just as rude as showing up unsolicited on the front porch.

Also, people who try to proselytize--irks the shit out of me.

I was sitting in a drugstore once waiting for some pain medicine because my jaw was dislocated--which is horribly painful. A man sat down next to me and kept looking at me peripherally as if he might know me. Suddenly, he turned and asked me, "Have you met the Savior, Jesus yet?" I just rolled my eyes and quietly but sternly asked him to please not harrass me in a public place. He got all huffy and insisted he wasn't harrassing me, but I didn't respond.

A few minutes later an old woman came in who could barely walk. I sat and waited for a minute since this guy and I had the only two chairs in the place. I got up and gave the old lady my seat. The good Christian never moved his sorry ass.

I know that not all Christians are like this, but many I've come across are and I have no patience with them.

Wow, that turned into a rant, didn't it?

However, the Jesus thing can work in your favor, too. When some blowhard insists on talking to you on a plane, ask if he or she has accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his or her savior. That will get you peace and quiet instantly.

On the off chance that the person is heavily into religion, breathe a sigh of relief and say "Excellent. Now let's discuss your insurance needs."

15. People who don't understand the concept of standing on line
Newcomers go to the end. They don't try to wedge in the middle. They don't stand next to the person at the front and pretend they have started a new, second line. And nobody gets to wander away from their spot for more than a minute and then come back expecting to get in where they were.

People who complain loudly and endlessly about the pace at which the line is moving are also shit listed.

44. Here's one for the class
I realize that there are lots of people now that don't have health insurance. They get a pass, because they're just trying to earn a living, and doctors are expensive. I reserve this next one for people (such as those in my DH's office,) who have insurance and just don't give a shit about anyone but themselves:

STOP COMING TO WORK WITH THE CONTAGION OF THE MONTH!

His workplace encourages those who are sick to actually use the days for that purpose, so there is absolutely no excuse for this. In the meantime, he gets to visit the doctor with regularity due to the inconsiderate asshats who think it's okay to come to work highly contagious.

Thanks, I'll return you to your regularly scheduled list o' shit.

45. Jerk Drivers
The following drivers:

1. You want to turn left at a red light. There is one car in front of you, also wanting to turn left. Light turns green. Car in front of you just sits there - does not pull into the intersection. Opposing traffic is nonstop, of course. When light finally turns yellow, guy in front finally creeps through his left turn, totally screwing you (and all behind you). Now you have to wait until next green light.

2. You want to turn right at the upcoming intersection. Two or three cars are stopped at the red light ahead of you in the fast (No. 1) lane. Some inconsiderate jerk who wants to go straight and who wants to get ahead of the cars already waiting, pulls to the right and waits there - effectively blocking you from making a right turn on the red.

3. Freeway is jammed. A long, off ramp appears. Rude, pushy jerk (usually driving BMW) pulls over, onto the off ramp. He has no intention of getting off - all he wants to do is speed by everyone else and then crowd in again when he gets to the end of the off ramp.

4. You are waiting at a stop sign to make left turn onto a through street. Car is coming from your left. It is far enough away so that it will take it a while to get to where you are, but close enough so that you will have to wait for it. Car keeps coming. Then, when it gets to where you are, the Adam Henry makes a right turn without signaling. If he had just signaled back, down the road, you could have pulled out a long time before he ever got there.

50. Excellent list...
May I add one?

You are waiting at a red light at a very busy, crowded intersection. The cars on on the other side of the intersection are making left turns on a green turn arrow. The arrow turns yellow, more cars make their turn. The arrow turns red and a car sneaks through, then another car sneaks through, then we get to the fifth car "sneaking" through the red light, which is holding up a huge line of cars waiting for the opportunity to actually move forward on their green light. If you are more than two or three cars back from the intersection, you're going to end up stuck waiting through another cycle of traffic lights.

Welcome to DU! (I'm not usually this cranky.) :hi:

What possible **good** is there in a Hummer, or owning one, or driving one? They are wrong in just about every way. They guzzle, they obliverate vision, they hog parking lots, they straddle two lanes of traffic, etc. etc. etc. AND, they are the object of contempt of most other drivers!

51. SUV drivers in general, for me.
ESPECIALLY with tinted windows!

Not only can we not see around your huge vehicle, but with tinted windows, you become a ROLLING menace. No one can see anything around you, above you, through you, or on either side of you!

But then these assholes insist of getting in front of you whenever possible to put your life in danger.

Don't get me started on these selfish A**hats.

56. People who do not have their bus fare ready
when they board the bus. Some drivers will not leave the bus stop until the passengers have paid. There are too many who don't bother getting their bus fare ready until they have boarded the bus and selected a seat.

Do they think the ride is free?

Also, passengers who will stand in the door so that the bus will wait while their friend SLOWLY approaches the bus from ACROSS THE STREET. Do you think they say thank you to the driver or the other passengers? NO because IT'S ALL ABOUT THEM! Grrrrrrr......

Public transit will try your patience!

64. People who hold up elevators to have conversations
Happened again today - they should be tar & feathered in a public square.

If you want to continue the conversation with the person getting off the elevator, then get off with him/her. DON'T FREAKING HOLD UP THE ELEVATOR FOR 5 MORE MINUTES JUST TO FINISH UP YOUR STUPID FREAKING CONVERSATION!!!

65. People who leave their cell phones on during work hours
It's like a FREAKING BIZARRO SYMPATHY with all the cell phones that ring during work hours. And I hear these folks on the phone and they AREN'T work related!!! (then again I'm posting on DU).

Please be considerate at work - put your cell phone on silent so you're damn Mozart 40 or that irritating Nokia ring isn't bugging the rest of us who are slacking off at work posting on non-work related websites.

And I found that I can put my cell phone on silent and time it to go back to normal ring at a specific time.

That and people who bring babies/small kids to either inappropriate movies or movies shown at really late times.

Your inability to find a sitter on a Saturday night so you can see a movie about Vampires & Werewolves does NOT mean I have to deal with your screaming obnoxious children (and yes, that really happened, but the entire theater boo'd them out of there!!)

72. People who leave conferences and cont. their meeting OUTSIDE that room

I just recently moved cubicles and I'm on the other side about 10 feet from a conference room.

When you leave the conference room, please be considerate and remember that people are working here and really are NOT interested in your meeting.

Geez, these people left a meeting about 20 minute ago and just finally brokeup their impromptu gathering outside that room just a few minute ago. They weren't even from our department or reside on our floor

74. People who go to the store
looking for something the store no longer carries, you inform the person where they can still get some, and that it is still availible through your store online only. They acknowledge that they already know this but they don't want to go anywhere else and they don't want to pay s&h. They then proceed to get pissed and say how your store does not support them and that they will never shop there again..........those kinds of people piss me off.

I could write a book on people like this I encounter them so much, no matter where I go.

76. Liberals...
...and calm down. I mean capital-L Liberals, the ones who, through their incompetence and greed are about to hand my country over to a marble-eyed fascist with fake hair and a social conservative agenda on par with your Chimphead's.

Also these freeper freaks get me down. And the dreaded SUV/cell phone combo. Why is it that the same sort of personality which gives people a need to buy the biggest, most dangerous vehicle on the road also causes them to make it that much more dangerous by gabbing on the phone while driving it?

80. Yes, the Cell Phone users who don't get it
Did you hear about the flight that was delayed because a woman wouldn't hang up her cell phone call when the air marshal asked her, saying it would be "rude" to the person she was talking to?

Never mind the hundred plus people on the plane . . .

Oh, I'm praying for you up there -- I hope it comes out okay! Canada has kept my hope alive throughout this thing with their sensible positions!

82. Thanks for those prayers - we'll need them.
It looks worse every day. I saw three huge buses with Harper's grim visage painted hugely on the side, and I shuddered. Was this a vision of some terrible future? No, it was just his campaign convoy, but still, very spooky.

Everyone in DU land please send the vibe up this way on June 28th, and we'll do the same for you come November.

78. People who bring infants and toddlers to choral concerts
We'll see just how much MORE pissed I am about this after Saturday (the chorus I sing with has a concert Saturday night, and I know for a fact some people are bringing babies and toddlers). Now, this is a more than 2-hour show, with many songs on the quiet side. I can guaran-damn-tee you we'll be interrupted by shrieking at least once and probably by toddlers running around the place, too. That is too long to expect to hold a small child's attention, for heavens' sakes - it's no kindness to kids that little to drag them to something and expect them to be still for 2-1/2 hours. But we've worked really hard to make these songs sound nice, and crying babies do NOT improve our concentration or harmonies.

Although I had one friend who solved that problem - she hired 2 teenage girls to run a nursery during the service
